Precuts...A Busy Quilters Best Friend
Why Precut Quilting Fabrics Are Every Busy Quilter's Best Friend
The smartest (and prettiest) way to bring an entire fabric collection home without blowing the budget.
If you're anything like me, your quilting wish list is always a little longer than your fabric budget.
There is something about a brand-new fabric collection that makes my heart skip a beat. The coordinating florals, the sweet blenders, the tiny ditsy prints, and those perfectly chosen accent fabrics all seem made for each other. I want all of them. But then reality sets in. Buying yardage online usually means purchasing a fat quarter, a skinny quarter, or even a half metre of every single print. Before you know it, you've spent far more than you planned—and you're left with a mountain of leftovers that may never find their way into another quilt.
That is exactly why I've become such a believer in precut quilting fabrics. As a busy mom juggling work, family, and the occasional load of laundry that somehow never ends, precuts have saved me time, money, and more than a few impulse purchases.
Honestly, I think they're one of the best values in quilting.
The Cheapest Way to Own an Entire Fabric Collection
One of my favourite things about precuts is that they let me enjoy every fabric in a collection without buying individual cuts of each print.
Think about a typical fabric collection. Many collections have anywhere from 24 to 42 different prints. If an online shop sells yardage by the skinny quarter or half metre, purchasing every print individually adds up quickly.
Let's compare.
